First musical memories: “I grew up in a musical household, my dad was an accomplished professional opera singer and was always rehearsing in the house, my mum played piano and my elder sister played lots of records during the ’60s and into the’70s as we grew up.”

Early influences, and current influences: “The Beatles, Classic rock, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, ’80s hair metal, good pop. I had a thing for the Dave Clark Five when I was about 5, and used to stomp around to Bits And Pieces.”

Musical start, and first bands: “Piano lessons when I was in primary school gave me a solid musical grounding, but I wanted to play bass. I was allowed to have my first bass if I passed my exams .. now there’s an incentive! My first band was a trio called XXX (pronounced Triple X), we played a few gigs at the now defunct Clarendon Hotel in Hammersmith, and the Ruskin Arms, famous for launching Iron Maiden. There were a few other bands, the most notable being Spitfire.”

Before 3Sixty: “Out of the ashes of Spitfire, the guitarist and I merged with another band and formed Moritz. We made waves in the ’80s but never got the deal. The female fronted If Only came after that in ’89, featuring 3 ex-Moritz members and Jackie Bodimead, formerly of Girlschool on lead vocals, who was subsequently replaced by the late Tina Egan. If Only released an album called No Bed Of Roses, which was produced by Geoff Downes. After that I toured the university circuit in a rock covers band with Mike White from Samson and Gem Davies from FM. Moritz reformed in recent years due to popular dead (no really!) due to an underground resurgence in the underground AOR scene, and have released 3 albums since 2010… Undivided, SOS and About Time Too, with myself taking on a bigger role in the keyboards, songwriting, recording, mixing and production with each subsequent album”

Joining 3Sixty: “With the current Moritz members now living miles apart, the band is dormant, so I put out a few feelers and made myself available on a few (musical) internet sites, where I was found by 3Sixty and invited to audition. That initial audition never came to fruition, but a few months down the line I got another bite of the cherry, which was tasty!”

Favourite 3Sixty song: “My current faves are Just Around The Corner and Pick Up All The Pieces. I expect that to change as I am getting to hear all the new songs in the pipeline.”
